  • Overview

    Our growing team needs your talents for a new role as Associate Director/Director Communications. In this role, you will report to the VP, Communications and support a wide range of investor relations and corporate communications activities, working across all aspects of Prothena’s communication programs to enhance and promote the organization’s vision, progress and reputation with internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to work as part of team and across functional areas to implement a successful corporate communications and investor relations plan will be critical to your success in this role. 

    Responsibilities

    Investor Relations

    • Coordinate the company’s IR schedule, including participation in IR conferences, non-deal roadshows and one-on-one meetings with new and existing investors, research analysts and investment banks
    • Develop and maintain investor presentations, organize R&D days and other investor facing activities
    • Assist with investor outreach activities and preparation of materials including quarterly and annual reporting, analyst meetings, presentations, and conference calls/webcasts
    • Facilitate timely follow-up to investor, research analyst and trade media inquiries
    • Manage investor relations portion of company website

    Communications

    • Draft and handle distribution of press releases and handle distribution of all press releases
    • Contribute to content development for internal communications materials, including all-employee meetings, new hire orientations and onboarding materials and internal newsletter
    • Maintain and enhance corporate website and social media content to ensure branding and messaging is consistent with strategic plan, and timely updates are reflected accordingly
    • Support the creation of communications materials, such as presentations, informational packets, videos or other multimedia tools
    • Collaborate with Head of Corporate Communications and internal departments to ensure message accuracy and consistency
    • Keep abreast of relevant opportunities, events and news items with an eye to continuous improvement of communication programs

     

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Maintain department calendar
    • Oversee budget tracking and invoice management
    • Handle special projects as requested

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Must have BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or related area (science degree a plus).
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications or investor relations.  Experience in the life sciences field is important.
    • Demonstrated record of success within a company during period of growth or change.  Small public company experience a plus
    • Experience working collaboratively with investors and through traditional and social channels
